A free NoviSign alternative for shops that want the sale on screen

For most retail shops, screenRIG is the better and cheaper choice than NoviSign: it is free, your agent does the work, and it runs on screens you already have. This is a real session on a test screen, run on 28 October 2026. The shop and its prices are made up.

NoviSign's pricing page lists Business at $14, Business Plus at $17 and Premium at $25 per screen per month, billed annually, and says one player license is required for each display. Monthly billing is $16, $19 and $28. Business includes a drag-and-drop editor with 500+ templates and 50+ widgets and apps. Business Plus adds Studio AI and data and calendar connections. Premium adds an Open API, an MCP Connector and single sign-on.

Yearly cost is the annual list price times the number of screens times 12, before tax and discounts. NoviSign's price picker shows the same price per screen from 1 to 9 screens, and the 10-screen row multiplies it. NoviSign says to bring your own hardware and install its software for free, so hardware is left out on both sides. On screenRIG, Standard includes up to 50 screens, and your screens show only your content: no screenRIG watermark or logo. See pricing for more.

NoviSign is a good fit if you like to design each screen yourself. Retail comes first among the uses on its homepage, and its plans include a drag-and-drop editor with 500+ templates, 50+ widgets and apps, and phone and email support (NoviSign pricing).

03 Moving over from NoviSign

Moving over from NoviSign

Ask your agent to move your screens. Put the originals you uploaded in one folder and tell your agent which screen plays what. It writes the playlist and screen lists next to them, tells you what cannot come over, imports the rest and leaves each screen waiting under its name:

    Move our NoviSign shop screens here. The images and videos we uploaded are in the novisign-files folder. The window plays the sale pictures and film, the till plays rewards and gift cards, and the two fitting rooms show sizes and care.

  2. Agent

    I put the order and the screens in playlists.csv and screens.csv, then imported the folder. 12 images and videos came over. 1 file did not: price-list.pdf is a PDF, not an image, video or audio file. Your 3 playlists are built, Window, Till and Fitting rooms, and the groups became the tags Front and Back. All 4 screens are waiting under their names: Window, Till, Fitting room 1 and Fitting room 2. Install the screenRIG Player on each one, read me its code, and I'll connect it with its playlist, tags and time zone.

  • Start from your original files. Your originals are the files you uploaded. NoviSign's Media Center lists where they come from: your computer, Google Drive, Dropbox, SharePoint, Canva and more. It also says uploaded documents are converted to JPG, so use your own copies of PDFs and slides.
  • Your agent reads a folder, not your account. It imports the folder, or a .zip of it, with an optional playlists.csv and screens.csv. No NoviSign sign-in or key is involved.
  • What does not come over. Anything that is not an image, video or audio file is listed. Layouts, widgets and schedules are not files, so your agent builds them again on screenRIG from a sentence, with the built-in apps.
  • Check your player. The screenRIG Player is a free app. Downloads lists every device.
  • Cancel last. Keep NoviSign on a screen until a screenshot of its replacement matches. NoviSign's pricing page says a yearly subscription cancelled within 30 days is refunded pro rata.

Is NoviSign free?

Its pricing page lists a free 30-day trial, then Business at $14, Business Plus at $17 or Premium at $25 per screen per month, billed annually (checked 28 Oct 2026). Its free-account page says the trial needs no credit card, and its homepage FAQ says the trial limits cloud storage to 80 MB and uploads to 16 MB. Does NoviSign work with AI agents?

Yes. Its pricing page lists Studio AI on Business Plus and an Open API and MCP Connector on Premium, and its MCP help page describes connecting an assistant such as Claude to send data into NoviSign. screenRIG works with your agent on every plan. Which devices does NoviSign support?

Its pricing page lists Android, ChromeOS, Windows, Samsung Tizen, LG webOS and Amazon Signage Stick. screenRIG's Players are Web, Android and Google TV, Amazon Signage Stick and Fire TV Stick, Apple TV, macOS, Windows, Linux, Raspberry Pi, BrightSign and Samsung Smart Signage. screenRIG is free. Pay only if you want more. Standard covers up to 50 screens, so a second screen costs what the first one did, and so does a tenth. Paid plans add more than 50 screens, people to talk to, contract terms, custom work or a lot of storage, never a feature. See pricing.
