Get the Player from the Microsoft Store
Open the Microsoft Store listing on the PC, install the Player and launch it. It opens full screen with the cursor hidden, keeps the PC and its display awake while it runs, and shows a code for your agent.
The listing, checked on 2026-10-26, offers the Player for Windows 10 (version 1809 or later) and Windows 11, on Intel, AMD and Arm PCs. For a PC that does one job, Windows Assigned Access can lock an account to the Player. The Player plays from the PC's own storage, so a dropped network does not stop it.
Pause the screen with one key
Press K on the PC's keyboard. A Paused mark appears at the bottom left with a one-line message, and the page timer, the page's video and the music all hold. Press K again and everything continues from where it stopped: a page set to show for 20 seconds and paused at 10 seconds shows for the remaining 10. A pause ends by itself after 60 minutes, and cards, web pages and live streams keep running while it lasts.

Switch the monitor on a schedule
Your agent can give the display a weekly schedule: up to 16 windows when it should be on, in the screen's timezone. The PC follows the schedule itself, so it keeps working offline, and the Player reports the power it reached.
- You
Keep this PC's display on from 7 am to 10 pm on weekdays.
- Agent
The screen had no timezone of its own, so I set it to Vancouver time, which is what the Player reported. Then I added the schedule: on from 7 am to 10 pm, Monday to Friday. The current window ends at 10 pm tonight.
That ran on a test screen, which blacks the picture out. The Windows app can switch the display three ways: through the monitor's own controls where the monitor answers, by turning the monitor off, or by blacking the screen out. Say "turn the display off for two hours" and your agent overrides the schedule for that long. It can also restart the PC when the signed-in account may shut it down.
Store app or browser app?
Prefer a browser? The Player web app runs on the PC at play.screenrig.ai/player. The Store app adds what a browser cannot: the monitor controls, a PC restart from your agent, and music that plays with no setting.
Images, video, live streams and cards need nothing extra. Web pages and your own apps draw through Microsoft's WebView2 runtime, which the Player looks for when it starts.
Next, put a web page on it
