# Authentication is required

> Canonical HTML: https://screenrig.ai/problems/unauthorized/

HTTP 401 · `unauthorized`

## What it means

The API answers with HTTP 401 Unauthorized and an `application/problem+json` document when the condition is Authentication is required. The document's `type` member is `https://screenrig.ai/problems/unauthorized`, the address of this page, and its `code` member is `unauthorized`.

## What to do

The credential is missing, expired, or revoked, so retrying with it fails again. If a stored agent credential was rejected, clear it (screenrig agent disconnect --yes) and enroll a new project; use screenrig agent connect only when the user asked to join an existing project.

## Player action

The Player action class is `remint`: Mint a new session, then continue.
