# Set up screenRIG in Hermes.

Use Hermes Agent from Nous Research to load the official screenRIG skill, connect your account, and publish to your Player.

## Get Hermes

Follow the [official Hermes quickstart](https://hermes-agent.nousresearch.com/docs/getting-started/quickstart) to install Hermes and choose your model provider. Start a conversation in the terminal or a messaging gateway you have configured. Hermes and model-provider accounts are separate from your screenRIG account.

## Load the official screenRIG skill

Hermes supports skills and terminal tools. Ask it to use the skill and bundled CLI from the [official screenRIG plugin](https://github.com/screenrig/plugin):

> Install screenrig.ai from the official plugin at https://github.com/screenrig/plugin. Load its bundled screenrig skill in Hermes and use its bundled CLI. Confirm you can run screenrig version, then help me connect my account and set up my first screen.

Review installation and tool-access requests before approving them. Hermes needs access to the complete plugin bundle and Node.js 20.11 or newer in the environment where it runs commands. Loading a skill description alone is not enough: ask it to confirm the bundled CLI works before continuing.

Use [Hermes’s skills documentation](https://hermes-agent.nousresearch.com/docs/user-guide/features/skills) for skill discovery and external skill directories. The Claude Code and Codex marketplace commands are not Hermes commands. If Hermes cannot load the skill or run its launcher, ask which capability is missing; a chat response alone does not complete setup.

## Connect your screenRIG account

For a new account, give Hermes your actual contact email so it can run `screenrig agent enroll --email ADDRESS`. If you already have an account, say so and complete the dashboard approval requested by `screenrig agent connect`. Never paste passwords, account credentials, or API tokens into the conversation. Standard is free within its included monthly allowances. Buying extra usage is optional. Image generation is metered separately. See [free allowances and plans](https://screenrig.ai/pricing.md).

## Pair your Player and publish

1. Follow [Player downloads & setup](https://screenrig.ai/docs/players.md) to install the Player for the device driving your screen. The Player web app (PWA) is available today.
2. Launch the Player and give its pairing code to Hermes. Keep the web Player in the foreground.
3. Tell Hermes what to show, on which screen, and when. Share only the data sources you want it to access.
4. Ask it to publish, request a screenshot, and check the physical screen yourself.

Already have a pairing code? Send:

> Use screenrig.ai for my lobby screen. My pairing code is [code]. Publish my existing welcome-board image. Keep my usage within Standard’s free allowances and ask before using separately metered image generation or buying extra usage.
