# Set up screenRIG in Grok Bot.

Install the official plugin in the Grok Bot app, connect your screenRIG account, pair
a Player, and let your bot publish your first screen.

Use the **Grok Bot** app for this walkthrough. The Grok Build terminal commands on
[Start](https://screenrig.ai/docs/start.md#official) are a separate installation path;
do not paste them into your phone as if they were app setup steps.

## Get Grok Bot and sign in

1. **Get Grok Bot.** Install it from the
   [App Store for iOS](https://apps.apple.com/app/id6794501026) or
   [Google Play for Android](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ai.x.grok.bot).

2. **Open the app, sign in, and start a conversation with your bot.** Your Grok Bot
   login is separate from your screenRIG account.

## Ask your bot to install screenRIG

Send this in the conversation:

> Install screenrig.ai using the official plugin at https://github.com/screenrig/plugin
> and help me set up my first screen.

Review any installation or tool-access approval your bot requests. Ask it to confirm
the plugin is installed and ready before continuing. If the bot cannot install or run
the plugin, a chat response alone does not mean setup is complete — ask what access or
capability is missing, or continue with

## Connect your screenRIG account

For a new account, give your bot your actual contact email so it can register you with
`screenrig agent enroll --email ADDRESS`. If you already have a screenRIG account, say
so and complete the dashboard approval your bot requests. Never paste your password,
account credentials, or API tokens into the conversation.

## Pair your Player and publish

1. **Install and launch your Player.** On the device driving your screen, open
   [play.screenrig.ai](https://play.screenrig.ai) or follow
   [Player downloads & setup](https://screenrig.ai/docs/players.md). The Player web
   app (PWA) is the Player available today. Install and launch the web app, then send the pairing code shown there to your bot, and
   keep a browser Player in the foreground while trying it out.
2. **Describe the result.** Tell your bot what to show, which screen to use, and when.
   If you want it to use a menu spreadsheet or events calendar, identify the source
   and approve only the access you want it to have.
3. **Publish and check.** Ask your bot to publish, request a screenshot to verify the
   result, and check the physical screen yourself.

Already have a Player code? You can combine the request:

> Use screenrig.ai for my lobby screen. My pairing code is [code]. Create a welcome
> board using my events calendar. Ask me for anything else you need.

If the Player never appears in `screenrig screen list`, confirm the Player is open and
its setup is complete, then send the pairing code again. For account approval or
pairing problems, keep working with the same bot conversation rather than creating
another account.
